The Technical Services Specialist position is part of the R&D Team and is responsible for providing technical support to internal and external customers through collecting and analyzing data, assisting in root cause investigations, and providing regulatory consultation.
The successful candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. The Technical Services Specialist should be an individual of high integrity and character with the ability to develop and maintain customer relationships. This position requires lots of travel. *The candidate will reside in the southeastern United States with the willingness to travel by air or ground to assigned plant locations. If the candidate resides outside the southeastern United States, they must be willing to relocate to North Little Rock, Arkansas.*
1. Work safely in an industrial food processing environment.
2. Write testing protocols.
3. Perform in-plant trials using FSIS directives.
4. Use statistical tools to analyze microbial data.
5. Write reports on testing results for internal and external customers.
6. Assist Customer Service Technicians with equipment troubleshooting.
7. Utilize MARC© system to identify performance trends and opportunities.
8. Develop relationships with food processing plant management and QA group.
9. Support Account Management by utilizing microbial and regulatory knowledge.
10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
